Hot on the heels of the recent 2.0 release, we’ve made a few tweaks and released version 2.1 of “Outlook MSG Viewer”.

Changes in this update include:

+ improved handling of inline RTF display as well as inline attachments (more reliable in many cases, and added internationalization support)

+ added support for decoding of compressed RTF within vCards, which is now stored in text format within the vCard itself. You may wish to re-process your contact files since additional information may be included that was not converted by earlier versions.

+ fixed bug in vCard output that prevented embedded photos from being read

+ fixed bug where certain vCards (e.g., those processed by CardScan) were not recognized

+ added option to suppress additional file output (e.g., JPG or RTF files) when processing vCards (default: disabled)

We also released an updated trial version that captures these changes as well. Users with valid v2.0 licenses can download this update at no charge.

Outlook MSG Viewer allows you to view Outlook MSG files on your Mac seamlessly and inline through your email client, just like a regular email. This is especially handy if you’ve imported your Microsoft Outlook e-mails from a PC to a Mac. Try the demo here!

Nearly two years since the last release and thousands of satisfied customers later, we’re pleased to release version 2.0 “Outlook MSG Viewer”, which contains a some major updates to the previous version.

One of the most major enhancements to this version is the ability to decode Outlook contact .msg files. Outlook MSG Viewer detects the nature of the .msg file, and contact files are smoothly converted into the popular .vcf format for importing into your address book. They can also be batch processed, similarly to the .msg email files.

We’ve also tweaked the user interface (for clarity), fixed a number of bugs, and also released a vastly improved trial version to demonstrate the capabilities of the software. Licensed users of v1.1 with purchases after March 1, 2012 will receive this update at no charge.

We’ve just released an update to “Outlook MSG Viewer”, which contains a few enhancements over the previous version.

For simplicity and speed, users have requested the ability to view attachments as inline. Here’s what we’ve done to address those requests.

First, we added the ability to view attachments as inline. This means if you have multiple, nested messages, they will all be displayed in a single message. It’s not as pretty as the original version, but it shows you the information you need faster.

Secondly, we added the ability to view the RTF attachments as inline HTML. The RTF file is actually the way that Microsoft intended that file to look since the original .msg file is stored in more of a Microsoft Word format. However, we have added the ability to perform RTF to HTML conversion. Keep in mind that with this option (disabled by default), some of the original formatting will be lost. Feel free to test this out.

Finally, for users performing batch conversions, we added the simple option to enable file naming to be .msg.eml (default) or simply .eml.

Licensed customers can download the update here.

Outlook MSG Viewer allows you to view Outlook MSG files on your Mac seamlessly and inline through your email client, just like a regular email. This is especially handy if you’ve imported your Microsoft Outlook e-mails from a PC to a Mac. Try the demo here!

We’ve just released an update to “Outlook MSG Viewer”, which contains a few enhancements over the previous version.

In rare cases, it seems that .msg files can actually be .eml files in disguise. This new version takes out the guesswork process for you, and correctly shows the attachment in .eml format.

For those with a large library of .msg files, and power users, we have also added a feature to bulk process .msg files. This can be accomplished using drag-and-drop; simply drag all of the individual .msg files onto the Outlook MSG Viewer application, and it will convert all of them to .eml files.

Licensed customers can download the update here.

Buying a domain name these days costs about the same price as a decent glass of wine. It’s so incredibly cheap to create a professional image for yourself in 2010, so why are you still using your @yahoo.com or @gmail.com email address to communicate with your clients? And how about setting up multiple email addresses for other folks in your company, or just routing a few to the same place?

If you’re looking for a recommendation on a general email service, in my opinion, there is no stronger contender than GMail. It also plays nicely with the other fantastic Google products like Calendar and Chat, as well as smartphones, so you can be sync’ed up all the time. In fact, their service is so good that many major universities and businesses are completely switching to a Google-managed solution for their email. If your personal email account does not end in @gmail.com, you’re sorely missing out. But, if your business or domain email is not being managed by Google, then you should contact us immediately.

Google offers a free service called Google Apps, which creates a personal copy of GMail, Calendar, and Chat for your domain name. It provides all of the world-class features that Google offers to the public to you, on your domain, for FREE. If you don’t want to tackle this yourself, we can switch your email over to Google Apps with minimal downtime and at a very affordable price. After the one-time change-over, you’ll be set.

After your migration is complete, you’ll have 24/7 access to your email from any device, and it will be accessible anywhere in the world. Great spam protection, search functions, security, complete integration with all of the other Google services, and you’ll be able to stop giving out your rusty @yahoo.com to your clients. Now, what are you waiting for!
